Cosmetic Treatments

We place great importance on cosmetic dentistry. Whilst it is true that medically speaking, teeth are for eating, most people feel that it is important for them to have a nice smile.

Missing, broken and discoloured teeth can be altered and improved - often very easily and with spectacular results. At times it is very easy to do, and surprisingly inexpensive. There is always more incentive to look after good-looking teeth.

Cosmetic results that are not so easily seen can be important too. We use very high quality polishable silver alloy for metal fillings and a superb resin composite for tooth-coloured fillings.

White Fillings

More people are requesting tooth-coloured fillings. We use a combination of adhesive resins and glass ionomer cements, depending on position and wearing qualities in the mouth. The durability and cosmetic properties of these materials are superb, although there is always the caution that, in general, they do not last as long as gold, metal or porcelain.

Spaces between teeth

A lot of people dislike the gaps that naturally appear between teeth. These can be removed by adding filling material which is perfectly matched to the teeth. This is an easy and very effective treatment - no drilling and no injections are required.

Bleaching Teeth

A modern technique whereby we whiten and remove much discolouration from all the teeth by the simple technique of using thin transparent trays filled with a whitening gel-highly effective, easy and relatively cheap.

Bridges
Are where we replace a missing tooth by adding a porcelain tooth onto teeth either side - often to replace or prevent the necessity for a denture.

Veneers

Are where we shave a small amount of tooth (usually the most discoloured part) off the front of the tooth and replace it with a thin piece of porcelain matched to the adjacent teeth.
